The latest came in early February this year when the celebrity gossip website TMZ published a recording of Christian Bale throwing a bit of a strop on the set of his new movie, Terminator Salvation. Within hours the recording had hit YouTube and clocked up millions of views, with people from all over the world listening to it and blogging about it.

There are many microblogging services out there: Twitter, Jaiku, Pownce, Tumblr (naming a few). For each service usually you have to: open the browser, login, write message, click post. Although some cut and paste can save you some time, the task can get boring and time consuming if you have 'friends' and profiles on them all. That's where Posty comes in. Posty simplifies your microblogging. All you have to do is write the message and click a button - Posty will automatically deliver your message to the services you selected.

The University of Washington's World Information Access report (WIA) has shown that since 2003, at least 64 people have been arrested for blogging about political issues - for exposing corruption in goverment, the abuse of human rights or for just generally criticising governments. In 2008, it is likely that more bloggers than ever will face arrest as a result of the growing political importance of blogging.
