YouTube is about to get clever with the addition of video annotations. These are a new way to add interactive elements to your videos. Add background information, create stories with multiple possible endings or link to related content. You control what they say, where they appear, when and for how long.

My main issue with YouTube is the quality. It is crap. Vimeo and Viddler offer much richer viewing quality, though you cannot argue with traffic and for that YouTube is still king.
It is good that they are trying to find ways to innovate the service but this all comes down to the fact that YouTube is still drinking from mother Google teat. They must have a team of 50 business analysts working out ideas to generate income from YouTube and when they crack it…
