iPhone/ iPod applications
Apps (short for Applications) are small pieces of software that run on smartphones (higher technology than average phones) and iPods. An App can be anything from a branded game to dynamic content to a useful tool. You’ve likely seen the adverts:
Some of the latest branded apps out there include:
iBanter for Cobra Beer
The 200 jokes included in iBanter, which is available from Apple's iTunes store for users with iPhone or iPod Touch devices. Each video focuses solely on the comedians' mouths, placing extra emphasis on the delivery of the jokes and allowing users to interact with the application.
Adam Barriball, communications manager of Cobra Beer, said:
“We want users to really interact with iBanter and the idea is that you can hold the iPhone up to your mouth while playing the jokes so you can entertain your mates.
“Digital is such an important media for our core 28- to-34-year-old target audience so it was hugely important that our plans were innovative and engaging to appeal to these consumers.
Your Reebok for Reebok
Your Reebok, uses the iPhone's touch, motion and GPS features to create personalised trainers with a selection of styles, materials, colours and text.
Users can then purchase the shoe online, which range between £80-£110 depending on the materials selected, or share their creations with friends and post them online with GPS tagging.
The app is available for free in the UK and US, with plans to expand to Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria and Ireland in the coming months.
